Taurus: Bountiful Provider πΏ
As we enter Taurus season and fully bloom into Spring, we are reminded of the fixed Earth energy that surrounds us provides us with security and abundant resources. The archetype of Taurus invites us to connect with the Bountiful Provider that exists inside of all of us, motivating us to embody our deepest values and feelings of self-worth.
Taurus cultivates all the earthly resources that are available to us from the soil that we grow our food to the money that allows us to concretize our dreams. This constellation connects us to our sense of determination, practicality, and endurance.
As we saw last month, the personality first comes alive in the courageously bold energy of Aries, the first constellation of the zodiac. As we move into Taurus, the second constellation of the astrological wheel, we are being asked to slow down and build a strong foundation for ourselves in the material plane so we can feel rooted and stable in matter.
When exploring Taurus, we are directed to Venus, the planet of love, beauty & abundance, the traditional ruler of Taurus. Through her, we are drawn to connect with our senses and enjoy the earthly pleasures of life. Pleasures such as a delicious meal, a beautifully tended garden, or even floral smells that open our hearts. When we channel the energy of Venus, we allow ourselves to fully relish in the pleasures of life.
For every archetype, there are light and also shadow parts to integrate in our psyche. When it comes to exploring the shadows of the energy of Taurus, we are often faced with challenges around our need to attach our self-worth to material desires and possessions. This shadow can cause us to feel disconnected from our values, gifts, and most importantly, Mother Earth.
When we find ourselves in this addictive cycle, we can call upon the Esoteric (higher level) ruler of Taurus, Vulcan. In Greek mythology, Vulcan is the Blacksmith of the Gods and married to Venus. One of his most important symbols here is to break free from the chains of desire.
Wherever you feel like you've been holding onto too much to the structure and feeling constraining by fears of safety and security, Vulcan reminds us to push forward, to open our eyes, and not get caught in the details of pragmatism, traditions, and money. Vulcan helps us integrate the value of impermanence in our lives.
In Astrology, the opposing energy of each zodiac sign helps us Opposing the Taurus energy is Scorpio. Where Taurus connects us to the physical resources and creating structures, Scorpio reminds us to surrender in water. Scorpio allows us to trust the power of transformation and of the merging of resources because after all, the Earth's resources belong to ALL beings. From this surrendered place, we are called to open our hearts, share, connect, and merge with others.
The Taurus-Scorpio helps us question the value behind our resources. And I invite you to ponder on these questions:
How we can honor both matter and spirit working in unison?
Matter helps us feel safe and protected and it creates a container, but how can we bring spirit through the structure of our lives?
I will leave you with the Esoteric Mantra of Taurus to help you open your eyes and see life through a new lens beyond our material plane:
May your lives filled with bountiful resources that can be shared with humanity.
