Full Moon in Capricorn

Mystical Realism

The final New Moon of 2024 occurs today, December 30th at 2:26 pm PT at 9° of Capricorn. This new seed in the earth sign of Capricorn is a perfect time to set new intentions for our upcoming 2025 cycle.

Capricorn reminds us of the wise, mystical, and contemplative part of ourselves. During this Capricorn cycle, I was mesmerized by the Sea Goat that exists in Capricorn, the mystical creature that is able to traverse through great mountaintops, and also surrender into the mysterious unknowns of our unconscious. 

I was listening to a talk from Astrological Adam Elenbaas on the Mystical Saturn, the personality and soul ruler of Capricorn, and he beautifully described Saturn's archetype with the ability to contemplate the fluctuating impermanence of the world. For us to do that, we need the spaciousness, stillness, and quietness of the Solstice. 

Keep in mind that Mars and Pluto are still in direct opposition creating much tension in our Leo-Aquarius houses. When looking at the most challenging aspects of this opposition, it might bring up power struggles, resentment, and repressed anger. However, this dynamic duo can also show us where transformation can happen through our conflicts.

Mars-Pluto opposition can be quite a confronting aspect, and if we are brave enough to see what changes must happen, it can create powerful alchemy in our lives. We'll be working with this transit until May 2025.

Jupiter in Gemini is still opposing Mercury in Sagittarius which might help us open up to new big ideas, perspectives, and more curiosity for our 2025 goals. Just be mindful of overstimulation and too much distraction, after all, Capricorn season is all about being practical and grounded.
