Full Blue Moon in Capricorn
Climbing from the Depths
On Sunday, July 21 at 3:17 am PT, we have the 2nd Full Moon in Capricorn occurring this Cancer Season. Both the Sun and the Moon are in the last degrees of cardinal signs, the Moon is located at 29 degrees of Capricorn, and the Sun at 29 degrees of Cancer. In Astrology, the last degree of any sign is considered an anaretic degree, a critical degree that emphasizes the power of that sign.
Not only is the Moon at the anaretic degree of Capricorn but it's also conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, which has now retrograded to 0 degrees of Aquarius. When the Moon and Pluto meet in the sky, it can bring up emotional intensity, highlight the power dynamics in our relationships, and encourage us to climb up from the depths of our biggest struggles.
Pluto has been moving through 29 degrees of Capricorn since February of 2023, so this internal process might not be new for us, instead, this can be a profound time to release energies that are not supporting our spiritual growth.
What lessons have been shown to you since February of 2023?
What psychological insights are being illuminated for you?
What old stories, habits, or relational dynamics do you need to purge?
Another significant aspect of this Full Moon is Mars' entrance into Gemini, creating a perfect trine with Pluto and the Moon. The dynamic and energetic momentum of Mars in Gemini can activate the problem-solver in us to create new solutions. Mars in Gemini is here to bring in the new!
The Sun and the Moon aren't the only two planets at an anaretic degree, Neptune is also at 29 degrees of Pisces, empowering us to trust in our artistic visions, intuition, and dreams. Both Neptune and Mars are here to move us into realizing our dreams even though there is much cleansing to be done.
Even though Pluto's force can bring us down to our knees, this powerful archetypal energy can also be an alchemical purifier in our lives. It's no wonder that Pluto is connected to the Scorpio mantra of "Warrior I am, and from the Battle I emerge triumphant." May we all be reminded of the transformative power that exists within us.
