Crystalizing the Vision

The Sun and the Moon are meeting in the sky at 20° of Capricorn on January 11th at 3:57 am PT. This will be the first New Moon of the year inviting us to set new goals for the year ahead. 

Capricorn is known for its determination, loyalty, and integrity. When we fully embody the cardinal energy of Capricorn, we find ourselves walking on the path of the Server to the Earth, one who creates resources.

Capricorn energy is associated with the 10th house of our public self-image, which is often related to our careers. Here, we're inspired to reach unexplored heights and discover new mountains to ascend, but these Capricornian climbs do not happen overnight, they take much patience and perseverance. 

This year, we'll continue to experience the powerful transition of Pluto completing a 16-year cycle in Capricorn and entering Aquarius for a new 20-year transit which began last year. The New Moon is only 9° away from the final degree of Pluto in Capricorn. Look at what house is ruled by Capricorn in your chart. You have been working through this life theme since 2008 and will be completing it by November 2024. 

This New Moon is also occurring very close to where we experienced the Great Conjunction of Pluto & Saturn in January 2020, the energy that sparked the pandemic. Reflect on what was happening for you at the beginning of 2020. What were you trying to build then? You might be revisiting those themes during the New Moon. 

Esoteric Astrologer, Alan Oken, describes the sign of Capricorn as "the light of initiation." He states that it "is the light which clears the way to the mountaintop, and produces transfiguration..."
